Right before the panic of shutdown due to COVID, this couple slipped their milestone wedding day at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska. Besides selecting a leap year wedding date, they knocked it out with a beautiful wedding venue!
Guys, they had their ceremony on the FLOOR OF THE JUNGLE! Seriously! The Lied Jungle! *insert giddy happy dance* They topped off a unique ceremony location with having their reception at the Durham Treetops Restaurant. The day was magical, a little humid in the zoo, but magical!
Oh, and don't forget the bats!
Did you know that prime bat feeding time is after 4pm at the Omaha Zoo? I learned that.
It made for a whole additional level of interesting. Bat poo happens. A LOT. My awesome second photographer, Ana, and I both were hit. The groom, Eric... yup, he had a few spots down the back of his suit.
And let me tell you about the ab-workout (& slight anxiety) we received while photographing and seeing these things flying crazily overhead.
Though it was worth it! The zoo made for a gorgeous backdrop for their ceremony as well as for their wedding portraits. It added a level of uniqueness & beauty with tropical florals & decor in the middle of a Midwest winter!
Oh, an did I mention these two are badasses? Yup! Between their great personalities & awe-inducing sparing, they have been fun to get to know and be around!
