A quick refresh—without the pressure

Almost every month on the third Monday, I bring a simple, confidence-first headshot experience to Veseli, a rustic modern farmhouse in Springfield, Nebraska—yes, closer than most people realize. These short sessions are designed for real-life professionals who want polished images with personality. We keep it easy: a few minutes to settle in, a little direction from me, and then we create portraits that look like you on your best day. (Glasses welcome!)

Veseli offers a clean, modern aesthetic with cozy textures and a couple of classic solid backdrops. It sits about 1.5 miles down a dirt road, which adds to the charm—plan a few extra minutes for a relaxed arrival.

June & July highlights

Across June and July, I photographed a handful of clients—each with a unique style and story. What they had in common: the desire to feel authentic, confident, and approachable in images they’ll actually use. I heard things like, “OMG THESE ARE INCREDIBLE,” and one client teared up (in the best way) seeing herself reflected honestly and beautifully during image selection. That’s why I do this.

You’ll see a mix of looks in the images in this blog: clean studio-style headshots, lifestyle portraits by a sunny window, and brand-forward frames that hint at what each person loves. No pressure. No over-posing. Just trust, great light, and a little direction to bring out your natural expression.

Prep pointers from Emily

Think of these as mini brand moments. Before your session, we’ll chat about how you want to use your images and what you want them to say—confident, welcoming, bold, relatable. Then:

Wear what you feel amazing in. Bring the outfit that makes you feel like a baddy, plus a backup layer (blazer/cardigan/statement jacket).
Keep it simple and intentional. Clean, pressed clothing; light jewelry; tidy grooming.
Bring a few small items you use at work (laptop, notebook, baton/pen/brushes, etc.), plus a lint roller and chapstick.
Glasses are great. We’ll manage reflections; keep them on if they feel like you.
