Sparkle & Spur Sessions at Spirit Horse Ranch (And the Horse Who Will Steal Your Heart)

There's a horse in Gretna who thinks every single person who walks through the gate came specifically to see him. He's a five-year-old reining horse with a show-stopping mane, a love for people, and a personality that will absolutely make you laugh at his antics! His name is Flint, he lives at Spirit Horse Ranch, and this spring he's the star of something really good.

Spirit Horse Ranch is a Gretna-based equine-assisted mental health program that uses horses in programs designed to support healing, resilience, and emotional growth. The work they do is steady, community-rooted, and genuinely important. The Sparkle & Spur Sessions are a fundraiser for that work, and on Saturday, April 11th and Saturday, April 25th, I'm partnering with them to make it happen.

Your $125 donation reserves a 15-minute portrait session with Flint, includes two professionally edited digital images, and goes directly toward a program that changes people's lives. Prom dress or blue jeans, kids or grown-ups, families or best friends — all of it works here, and all of it is welcome.

I photographed Flint's headshot for their website (that's his face you've been seeing in the promo materials), so I can tell you firsthand: he is exactly as charming in person as he looks. He is going to lean into you, make you laugh, and probably investigate whatever you're wearing. He is made for this kind of afternoon.

What to expect

Your session takes place at Spirit Horse Ranch, 14624 S. 204th St. in Gretna. We'll spend 15 minutes with Flint in whatever way feels natural (standing with him, letting your kids get brave around a big gentle horse, just being present with an animal who is very good at making people feel at ease). Within a few days of your session, we'll meet for a short reveal appointment so you can choose your two included images. That appointment can happen in person or via Zoom, whichever works best for you. Additional images are available at $99 each.
