I received a call one day from Farzana, inquiring about a maternity session. She wanted something rustic and snowy. So my jam! We setup a consultation session to meet and discuss if I was the photographer for her. When I found out her due date was my birth date, I knew the stars had aligned! They chose me to help tell their story and capture this beautiful chapter of their life.
Being Nebraska in January, we had tentative dates set up for her photo session. It took a few tries, waiting for some snow & then it ending up being arctic cold. Farzana & Sami rocked their photo session, despite the bitter cold. And I'll be one to say, she's one tough mama!
When we were working on figuring out dates, she sent me ideas of what her outfit choices would be for her maternity session. Boy was I excited when she asked about including a wardrobe change into a traditional outfit she wanted to wear.
The beautiful blue dress she wore that was complimented by his light blue shirt and tie; these two started off their session looking quite snazzy on such a cold day.
Even with the overcast sky, we planned our time to ensure they would have breaks to hop into their vehicle to warm up as often as needed. The chill was real in the air! It didn't help that the wind swept across the lake brutally.
Part way through their session, they changed into their second outfit. Gorgeous! The colors and texture of their traditional outfits had me skipping giddily through the snow.
This mama had a quiet, reserve vibe but also stunning, sassy and regal. My goal was to capture those traits for her, for her to see the elegant beauty she is as she enters they enter the next chapter of their life.
We finished up our session at Chalco Hills Recreational Area in a warmer rustic spot near the cabin right before dark and just in time for her to warm up.
At their in-home reveal, they had so many images to choose from! In-home reveals are my favorite. Instead of feeling overwhelmed looking at all their images, I was there to help them enjoy their images and stress less about picking out their forever keepers. Plus, I love to see the reactions to the images I captured. *insert exploding hearts*
Here's a few more of Farzana & Sami's gorgeous session. Don't mind me as I continually swoon over this pretty mama's images!
